The transportation system
The transport system includes sea and land transport, the road system, shipping and port matters and public transport. The Icelandic Road Administration develops and manages transport systems, by sea and land, guided by the needs of society. In its activities, the IRCA shall promote safe, sustainable, easy and cost-effective transport and that transport develops in accordance with social and environmental goals.
